Sorry...didn't get to write yesterday.  Sis and I gathered our Christmas presents, piled them into the car and headed to Salem.  We hopped into Nick's big white truck with Nick and Linda and headed to Bloomington to see the land Sis and Aaron purchased. It's on a big lake and is beautiful. I was thrilled to get to see it.

In spite of this wicked upper respiratory infection I have goin' on...we had a lovely evening.

UP at 5 a.m....coffee with Linda and in the car by 6:25. Sis left right behind me at 8:30 and headed for Langley AFB. A long day behind the wheel...lots of puffs plus...that's OK. Here's where I hit the wall............couldn't get in touch with Sis on her cellie for 5 hours. I was worried sick....driving...snuffin' and blowin'! All I needed was to hear her voice. Roxie called...of course she understood. She says...that happened to me!...Nic didn't have her car charger. Guess what...that's exactly what happened...Sis had attempted to call and let me know that she was turning off her phone so I wouldn't worry...and the call didn't go thru because of the mountains. All is well...the kids are fine...so I'm fine!...and every momma will not only understand...but sympathize as well. Thanks for feeling my pain!

I'm snuggled into 401...thankful for an amazing time over the holidays with DanaMarie, Brian, Bruce, Sissy, the Settles and the Leis family.

Am looking forward to hearing about your holidays.

It's 3:20pm on Christmas Day! Merry Merry Christmas to you

We've opened presents this morning...had our usual cinnamon rolls and Christmas Ham and Egg Casserole. Bruce and Brian have connected the new DVD player. Sis has talked to Aaron. The kitchen is clean and we're just chillin. Traditional as can be...remembering and doing things we've done for years...and it's in the "being together" that the chords of family and caring hold fast and mean so much. Even a lousy cold can't dampen the good time together.

Time to help Bruce gather his things together. I think it will be movie night tonight.

Actually, it's Christmas Morning so let me wish you a very Merry Christmas!
Just noted Norad's Santa Tracker and you'll be happy to know that he's on track and presently in Rockwell City, Iowa and heading your way.

To catch you up...After Sat. evening at Pam and Barry's...I spent most of Sunday in Salem, Indiana at Nick and Linda Leis's home. They had their family gathering...10 adults, 7 kids and Barney. They are a wonderful family and it was a great time. At one point I looked over and all 7 kids were hanging on Barney...and he never lifted a paw. Just a real sweetheart. It was hard to leave...and with promises to come back soon...Sis and I got in our cars and headed back to Louisville to DanaMarie and Brians.

Buckeye and Barney got reacquainted and are doing really well together. I got them red pj's with their names on the butt...for their Christmas present. They don't seem to mind a bit and wore them all evening. They looked adorable.

Today, Christmas Eve, has consisted of relaxing with coffee and a Christmas movie this morning...a walk in the park with Barney and Buckeye...and cooking together in the afternoon. Bruce got in around 3:30...that was sooooooooooooo fun! Everyone was thrilled to see him.

Pam, Barry and Lindsey came over around 4:30 to join us for dinner. Brian did a tenderloin on the grill using his dad's marinade. It turned out wonderful.............sooooooooo tender! It was a great time around the table...lots of chatter and good belly laughs. Then onto charades and game time. Everybody was a good sport...and jumped in. Pam and I got DQ'ed...(disqualified) for talking when we shouldn't. It was a good time.

The evening ended with everyone crashed on the big couch watching the Griswold's in their National Lampoon Christmas movie. Bruce and Brian lol throughout! Fortunately, things here did not reflect the Christmas that the Griswolds had. Things here have been wonderful and DanaMarie and Brian are a great host and hostess. It's fun to see them in their home...doing Christmas...their way!

Aaron's doing well...Sis talked to him a couple of times today. He has a great attitude.

Due to a "bug"...I have a nose "redder" than Rudolf. Other than that...all is well at 2923 Curran Rd in Louisville.
