 1/12/08 good chats...

Today was one of those wonderful days...you know, ...one of those rare days that you have nothing specific planned. What a gift. Love it. Looking forward to finishing my book.

Worked out...and received a call from Connie. She offered to come over and teach me to knit. What fun! ...even better than the knitting was the chatting. We had a great time and made plans to continue our chat next Wed.

Speaking of chatting...forgot to tell you that yesterday, I spoke with Bob and Rita Schelble. They are doing very well and are heading down this way. (Knowing that... a couple days prior, I had shot off an email and invited then to stop by 401.) Good News!...They called to say they are going to try and come. The drive from Wisc. to their condo in Alabama is 1200 miles(ugh!). Looks like they'll drive down...get settled and then pop over. Would love to show them HHI.

Also had a chance to talk with Cindy Elson. You see...I had placed an order at Femailcreations.com and goofed it up! Instead of heading to 401...it's headed to Alder Run Way. Oooooooooops! Called to warn Cindy. Sorry. (FYI...I had ordered two signs. One sign absolutely made me lol! It says..........."Who Fired The Maid?" Thought it would be perfect by the laundry. The other reads..."At the beach...time you enjoyed wasting, is not time wasted." by T.S. Eliot.) My mistake became a good opportunity to chat and get caught up....thanks so much, Cindy.

Also heard from Jamie. She called today. She's in DC doing research on her thesis. What a great young woman.... hope to see her when she heads down to Florida with her frisbee team in March.

It's quiet and peaceful at #401.
Have a good night.
Much love, Sue

 1/11/08 Dan and Connie Cevasco

Enjoyed my day off. Worked out...it's good to be getting back to my "new normal." Sore in the morning...for sure.

Nip and Nibble tonight 6-8 at the Shipyard Beach Club. As usual, the Harbourmaster group was the largest group. Tonight, we had 3 tables pulled together. Really lovely people.

Looked across the room...and thought.....hmmmmmmmmmmmm, that fellow looks familiar. Searched the data base...then I remembered. It was the doctor that Chris Murray introduced me to when she was here last year. He was Rich's best friend. His name is Dr. Dan Cevasco...he's in hospice and palliative care at Summa. Said hi,...and we went over and I reintroduced myself to his wife Connie. Connie's a knitter...and knows of a shop down here that has classes. The gals gather on Thursday night...sit around in rocking chairs and knit away. Hopefully, we'll get to give it a try. Will let you know.

Mitzi and Opal are on the couch with me...we're watching Remember the Titans. Great flick....definitely two thumbs !

Stay warm and have a nice weekend........
Much love, Sue

 1/10/08 Thursday...ER STAFF

A beautiful day today. Sunny and Warm...but according to the news some of the bad weather is moving in. That reminds me...I need to learn about flood insurance. Have started that process. It seems I need to submit an elevation document to USAA.

In the midst of my day at TFM...received an order for two baskets. In order to customize the order, I always try and get as much info as possible ...what does the customer request???...who is it going to??? It seems this order was going to Hilton Head Med Ctr and was ordered by a lady who wanted to say thank you...catch this...to the ER staff that saved her husbands life. Say no more,kids...I got it!!! and rest assured.......she had two very nice baskets to take to the ER staff. It was fun to do them. Wish I could have been a fly on the wall when they opened those baskets in their "break room" (Some things will stay in my heart forever.)

Looking forward to days off and getting the finishing touches on post holiday catch-up.

Have a great day tomorrow.
XOXOXO.........Sue

 1/09/08 Whew!

Today flewwwwwwwwwwwwww! After receiving an insane number of spring flowers (why would you send daffodils and crocus in January???) ...raced home to meet a girlfriend from church for lunch. The chat was great...........then to church tonight. Spent time with the single mommas. Please pray for the group.

Up early in the morning...then a gal from church has asked me to pop over and help her with her wardrobe. Should be fun.

All for now from 401...time to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Love, Sue

 1/08/08 Take care....

It was fun to be back at work and feel good! (It felt great....and reminded me just how much I take for granted.)

Then out tonight with the Harbourmaster bunch...there were 16 of us. A number of folks just arrived after spending the holidays in the Midwest with their families. Many from Ohio and Pa. Looked over at the next booth and there sat Dr. and Mrs. Bavvikatti (sorry...I know that's misspelled...but you'll know who I mean.) They also have a place in Shipyard Plantation....about a half of a mile from 401.

One downside from tonight...the gentleman that sat next to me...looked just like I did a week ago. ( I tried not to breathe! )

Am watching the results come in from NH. Regardless of ones politics...you've gotta love John McCain...a true American hero. The guy's been left for dead both physically (in Viet Nam)and politically (this summer). He keeps coming back.

It will be interesting when the whole bunch troops down to South Carolina. Will let you know what I see.

Take care and stay well.
Much love, Sue
