Arrived at Portsmouth Naval Hospital at 1:30. Sis just got back from the vascular lab.

Right now she's a little queezie, but is comfortable...and she's tired. She and Aaron were up all night. She's a sweetie, but like the true athlete that she is...she's disappointed that she won't be able to compete in the triathalon this weekend.

11:50...just arrived a bit ago at Sis and Aaron's home on base. It's a great spot and Barney their dog is a great greeter.

Sis is sleeping comfortably at Portsmouth and her hand looks good.
The docs and nurses are very attentive and are taking good care of her. Will let you know how things progress tomorrow.

Well, it looks like Barney has decided to sleep with me tonight!

Won't be going to Dayton or Miami. Cancelled my flights after I got a call from Sissy today. She has a blood clot in her subclavian vein and has been admitted to Portsmouth Naval Hospital. They'll do a roto-rooter procedure on her in the morning to remove the clot, with a follow up "look see" scheduled for Wed.

Aaron is there with her and she's doing fine tonight. They have started her on a heparin drip.

I'm planning on getting up early and driving the 8 hours in the morning. Will have my computer with me and will keep you posted.

Mine started with Special K, an absolute downpour and tornado warnings! It look like a wall of water was coming down from heaven...and then cleared .

After the nursery, I headed for the Fresh Market. It was busy.

The best part of my day..... talked with Sissy, DanaMarie, Brian and Bruce ...Aaron was traveling back to Langley from a week in Indy. They are great...and with my cup still full from a wonderful time last weekend...I had a great day and didn't feel cheated one bit. I feel so blessed to have such amazing kids...am sure you know what I mean and feel the same way.

In the evening, took one of the gals from the Single Mom's out for pizza. She's 25 y/o, had two adorable daughters and is a great little gal....so sincere and eager to learn. We talk a lot about parenting as it relates to her girls.

Finished today getting a stitching consult from Cindy...stitching til I lost track of time.

I have an unspoken prayer request for a precious family as they go thru a very difficult time. Thank you for praying.

It was a good day....lots of Mother's Day arrangements flew out the doors. And, at the end of the day, I can say.... it was fun. Worked hard... 9 hours straight...running as fast as my legs would go...but the days that I can just design are my favorite. One problem, I never take pictures...they'd be nice to have.... just have never taken the time.

Grace and the nursery in the morning and then back to Fresh Market. We'll get busy after church and brunch. Then to spend the evening with one of the Single Moms.

WOW!!!...phenomenal....you're phenomenal. Thank you for your cards, flowers, cakes...hugs, good wishes and ornery cards. ( loved the one about the wrinkled butt!). Have much to write, but need to run into work. Soooo thankful for you.......I'm humbled.

9:08 PM...work was wacko! ...and tomorrow will be more nuts. It's OK...I work with a lot of wonderful people and they are really good to me.

I called my boss this morning and asked if she needed and extra pair of hands today thru Monday. The reason was not only Mother's Day...but Rabbi Harold Kushner will be speaking to Norm and Suzy's congregation in Columbus. He's known world wide for his wisdom, compassion and his books. He wrote When Bad Things Happen To Good People and also Overcoming Life's Disappointments, just to name a few. Often his words brought comfort at three in the morning and I felt blessed to have found him via his writings. Now, to sit and hear him teach...personally, it will be a tremendous opportunity and moment for me.

Now, about this whole birthday thing...thanks to you, it was a wonderful day. The love, cards, good wishes, surprises...(at the Fresh Market!!!...boy was I surprised)...I am sooooooo thankful for each and every one. Oh, and the songs...you sang to me...and I must say...some of you really should sing softly in church...not so good. But you're tones were golden to me. You knocked my socks off...Thank you so so so much! YOU'RE WONDERFUL!!!

As I was driving to work yesterday morning, the sun was coming up...it was beautiful and instantly the words to one of my favorite hymns, Great Is Thy Faithfulness, flooded my heart. The lyrics of the chorus are....Great is Thy faithfulness, Oh God, my Father...There is no shadow of turning with thee....Thou changeth not, thy compassions they fail not...as Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be. Great is thy faithfulness...morning by morning, new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hast provided. Great is Thy faithfulness...Lord, unto me.

So, I guess it's...
60,...and still standing, ...in His grace.
