It's officially 2008! Happy New Year!!!
I'm sitting here with my cup of tea...and Dick Clark has finished the countdown. Though I'm not up to full speed...I've turned the corner and am starting to feel better. Definitely better than 2 days ago. Will go to work in the morning. Sooooooooooooo....Decided to socialize a little.
Spent the evening going to two parties. There was a gathering at the Shipyard Beach Club for folks here in the plantation. I sat with my Harbourmaster buddies...Elwood, Naomi and the gang. That ran 6-9pm. Someone was setting off fireworks on the beach! Then to a house party held at the choir director and his wife's home. Lovely , lovely people...we played Taboo! ...and watched the ball drop. It was a nice evening.
As much as New Years is a time to look forward to the new year...I can't help but recall some favorite New Years of the past. The Cascade Club years were so much fun...but probably my all time favorites were those spent with the girls and their dates up in Cleveland. The girls would get all dressed up...and off we'd go with their dates to have a wonderful evening at Stouffer's main ballroom. We'd have dinner and dancing to wonderful music and two fabulous non-stop orchestras. It was a great time together. So glad we did that!
As we look forward to a new year...my prayer is that we are busy and investing in what the Lord would have for us. May God bless you richly with health and enough.
Much love, Sue
PS...It's 10:15 pm... Worked today. Came home bushed.
More importantly,...forgot to tell you about my beachwalk. Mitzi and Opal love to go and do really well. The weather was great but what surprised me was the number of people on the beach. Lots of folks out tossing around the football and frisbee ...plenty of dog walking... and book readers in chairs were everywhere. It was surprising...but really pleasant. So with the girls and my new Ipod shuffle playing Rocky...off we went. It was wonderful.
We've made it through the holiday...Yeah! and it doesn't seem possible that on the 18th of January, it will be a year since Tik and I drove down. As Bruce said, "it was a really busy year!"
Have a great day tomorrow...it's 2008!
Love, Sue
