 12/24/07 Norad...

Actually, it's Christmas Morning so let me wish you a very Merry Christmas!
Just noted Norad's Santa Tracker and you'll be happy to know that he's on track and presently in Rockwell City, Iowa and heading your way.

To catch you up...After Sat. evening at Pam and Barry's...I spent most of Sunday in Salem, Indiana at Nick and Linda Leis's home. They had their family gathering...10 adults, 7 kids and Barney. They are a wonderful family and it was a great time. At one point I looked over and all 7 kids were hanging on Barney...and he never lifted a paw. Just a real sweetheart. It was hard to leave...and with promises to come back soon...Sis and I got in our cars and headed back to Louisville to DanaMarie and Brians.

Buckeye and Barney got reacquainted and are doing really well together. I got them red pj's with their names on the butt...for their Christmas present. They don't seem to mind a bit and wore them all evening. They looked adorable.

Today, Christmas Eve, has consisted of relaxing with coffee and a Christmas movie this morning...a walk in the park with Barney and Buckeye...and cooking together in the afternoon. Bruce got in around 3:30...that was sooooooooooooo fun! Everyone was thrilled to see him.

Pam, Barry and Lindsey came over around 4:30 to join us for dinner. Brian did a tenderloin on the grill using his dad's marinade. It turned out wonderful.............sooooooooo tender! It was a great time around the table...lots of chatter and good belly laughs. Then onto charades and game time. Everybody was a good sport...and jumped in. Pam and I got DQ'ed...(disqualified) for talking when we shouldn't. It was a good time.

The evening ended with everyone crashed on the big couch watching the Griswold's in their National Lampoon Christmas movie. Bruce and Brian lol throughout! Fortunately, things here did not reflect the Christmas that the Griswolds had. Things here have been wonderful and DanaMarie and Brian are a great host and hostess. It's fun to see them in their home...doing Christmas...their way!

Aaron's doing well...Sis talked to him a couple of times today. He has a great attitude.

Due to a "bug"...I have a nose "redder" than Rudolf. Other than that...all is well at 2923 Curran Rd in Louisville.

God Bless You and Yours today and in the coming year.
Merry Christmas!
Much love, Sue

 12/22/07 Lexington, Ky...

Had a great time this morning at DanaMarie and Brian's.  Just doing ordingary things..that's always my favorite...goofing off... around the house...or out grocery shopping.  The kidss are great...and Buckeye is a total sweetheart.

This afternoon at 2...left for Lexington with DanaMarie, Brian and Buckeye.  Enjoyed time at Pam and Barry's with the family.  Dinner was delicious.  That southern girl can really cook!

I am soooooooooo thankful...both girls married into wonderful families that truly cherish "their" families.  I did feel bad for Pam.  She had worked all week...was sick... felt miserable...and still set a beautiful table...and prepared a wonderfulChristmas Dinner for everybody.  Having done that over the years...I certainly felt for her.

Fell alseep last night with the computer on my lap...and Buckeye in bed with me.  DanaMarie is up...running on the treadmill before she heads into University Hosp. to work 7am-7pm.  She's on-call the 24th and 25th at the VA.  Say a prayer that she doesn't have to go in.

After being on call Friday night at the base...delivering 6 babies...Sissy slept a few hours and then drove from Langley to Salem, In. I'll drive to Salem today to be with the Leis family.  Linda is doing their Christmas today so Sis could be with them. Bruce will drive in tomorrow from Columbus.

Hope all is well on your end...God bless and safe travels. Much love, Sue

 12/21/07 Hi from Louisville....

Arrived safe and sound. The drive was easy...dry pavement all the way. It took 10 1/2 hours....longer I'm sure because it was dark...and I got a ticket last time. Hence, had to slow down a bit.

DanaMarie and Brian looked great. Buckeye is my buddy...and is in bed with me ....where he'll stay all night. Such a love.

Am bushed...........all for now. More tomorrow.
Merry Christmas from the beautiful Bluegrass State

More tomorrow.
Love, Sue

12/19/07 Done! at least for a week...

Done today at 4p.m.  ...a little rest and then off to Louisville.  I had considered driving part way tonight and then finish tomorrow.  However, DanaMarie and Brian have plans in Cinci...and I can use the time in the morning to get things wrapped up around here, and then drive. It should work out well.

No big news from today. Did a couple of arrangements that go for $200.00 each. Really enjoy doing them.

Looking forward to seeing the kids...........and the weather looks like it is going to cooperate! Yeah! Thankful for that.

Til tomorrow night from Louisville...
Since you're a little old for visions of sugar plums...I'll just with you a good night of much deserved and welcome sleep...especially this time of year!
Take care.............Love, Sue

 12/19/07 Single Moms...

Tonight went great. The single moms and kids were delighted. Considering it's the first time we've done anything quite like this...it went really well. In addition to the usual dinner together...we had gifts...devotions...and Birthday Cake for Jesus. I think they were touched by the amount of care and support that was extended to them. For myself...I was thankful to be a part of things. Slowly...they are opening up and responding. Tonight I shared a little about our Christmas traditions at home...and that we would be using the flannel graph that I used with the girls each year as we read Luke 2:1-20. Quietly, one of them asked if I would share my story with the group.p

Tomorrow will be a full day...and busy! You can see that people are getting Christmas Crazy

One tired cookie...heading off to bed.
Hope the Christmas Crazies aren't getting to you!
Sleep well..............Much love, Sue
