12/12/07 Beach Walk with the girls...

It was a busy day at work...and I thoroughly enjoy it.  It's such a funny little job...physically, I work hard...lifting and toting cases of flowers and gifts.... and I often feel guilty that I'm not caring for patients.  The staff is really dear, and as I've mentioned...they are literally from all over the world...Russia to Venezuela and then some! Sometimes I do a display...other times I help out is coffee/candy...and then, back to the flowers.  And...I love my boss.  She has been great.............gives me a lot of "creative license!"   I'm very fortunate to have stumbled onto this. It's been the perfect job for this particular time...as I moved down here and continue to learn to move forward.

It was lovely here today...so took "the girls" to the beach for a walk. They have learned to love their beach walks...and they actually behave. Miracles never cease!

This evening was Single Moms...and no choir. The Christmas Concert is over...and I really missed getting to sing with the group. There is a small group of 5 that routinely make up the praise team on Sunday.

Am falling asleep as I write. Since getting the Tae Bo tapes...I've been getting up to work out before work in the morning. That translates into a 5:00 a.m. get-up call!!! Sooooooooooo, time to get some sleep!

Take care...and have a great day tomorrow!
Love, Sue

 12/11/07 2 x $200,00

Received an order for 2 $200.00 arrangements! Love doing those large pieces. They were in red and white for a Catholic Church here on the island. And here's the good news...when they came in and saw them...they ordered two more for next week!!! And Anita said, "do you know how many cool clothes and workout clothes I could buy for that?!" Gotta love her.

The gift basket business is picking up, too. Orders for 4 came in...and they are also $$$$$!
Someone is going to be very happy!

Talked with both girls........they've been very busy. Sis was in the O.R. all day doing surgery today...and DanaMarie has had big cases this week in the O.R. in Louisville at the VA. Bruce and Brian are busy dealing with end of the year crunch. Aaron is either crazy busy or bored beyond belief in the "land of sand." His deployment has been extended. Now, rather than getting home in January...he is to come back home in February. Please keep the kids in your prayers.

Guess that's all for Tuesday...have a great day tomorrow.
Much love, Sue

 12/10/02 time to snooze...

but first just a small entry.

It was a good day...warm and sunny...80 degrees. Did some Christmas shopping. One thing of note...as I was making my way around Michael's Craft store...I ran into 4 people that I know. That's a change from a few months ago.

Then off to have dinner with a lovely couple from church to chat about putting together a Christmas gift to help out our single moms.

The day flew...and tomorrow will come soon.
Take care.............
Love, Sue

 12/09/07 a real blessing

Woke up at 4:40 this morning...no chance of getting back to sleep. So...up...coffee...worked out...and time to get ready for church. As I was getting dressed, more than once, I thought..."What were you thinking, girl???" Singing with 14 other wonderful people...Oh my goodness! To late for that........so, off I go. The services and music were uplifting and inspiring...the congregation responded to the music by standing and clapping. They loved it and so did I. It was a blessing to be a very small part of it. Thank you for your prayers...fortunately, I didn't fall off the stage or belt out a note while everyone else was quiet! ( my own personal goal!:) The members of the praise team were terrific and it was fun getting to know them a bit. It was a good morning..very good. It was a stretch...but I'm very thankful for the whole experience.

Hope you had a blessed Sunday as well.
Love, Sue

 12/08/07 the "loo" is good!

Good News!  The loo is functioning perfectly...and here's the really good news...   The regime covers the bill.  It seems I'm only responsible for the stuff under my roof!  and that excludes trees and roots .  Therefore, the regime fee that I pay each month goes in a pot ( No pun intended!) that covers this sort of thing.  How's that for good news!

Today was the 3 hour practice for tomorrow. I took your advice Susie...thanks ! Will let you know how the Christmas Concert goes. Please shoot us a few prayers........... .............thank you. It will be interesting to see what a Sunday Morning concert is like. We were always so used to going in the evening. Again, will let you know on that one, too.

It has been a tremendous amount of fun rehearsing and getting to know the different folks on the praise team. Really enjoyed it alot.

Have most of my Christmas shopping done for the kids. That has been a real pleasure...and a feeling that I didn't expect would ever return. The season really got started for me with the message in the music...then Sis called...just delighted...so thrilled with some of her gifts she'd gotten for the family. Her voice just burst with joy and excitement. Then a couple of weeks later, I asked her what she wanted for Christmas...her reply was, "Momma, it doesn't matter what you get for me, I know I will love it." I told her that her comment was all I needed for Christmas...what a beautiful Christmas Spirit was coming from her heart. All 3 kids have been wonderful...and I'm so looking forward to heading to Louisville in less than two weeks. Bruce will drive in from C'bus...Sis will fly in from Norfolk...and I'm planning on driving from HHI in my buggy loaded with gifts. And...........here's more fun...Pam and Barry will also join us at DanaMarie and Brian's house. Buckeye is going to have company, too.......his cousin, Barney!

God Bless...and Merry Merry Christmas!
Love, Sue
