to Louisville!" 4 a.m. came a bit early...but arrived in Savannah on time...woke up in Atlanta...applied makeup in Ladies Room...downed copious amounts of coffee and headed to the gate to catch my 10:40 flight to Louisville. Of course, it was packed...no problem...standing in line...walk down the jetway to board the plane...it's backed up...that's no surprise...look up...hmmmmmmmm, that sure is a big guy...........Holy cow!!! I'm standing behind THE CHAMP!!! LENOX LEWIS!!! He's a really big, handsome man with a gorgeous lady. I could hardly contain myself. No, I didn't say a word...would never...but I was sooooooooooooooo excited!

The flight arrived on time...called ahead to tell Sissy so she could see him get off the plane...( he was in first class and she for sure would never know who he was ). She got to see him...grabbed my camera...marches over at the baggage claim area and says...Hi, my Momma's a huge fan, can I get a picture? He of course was gracious and so Click! I have a pic!

A great girlfriend lunch at Mitchell's...DanaMarie got off early so we headed home to Curran Rd to get to see her. Brian got home around 4-ish...and Bruce arrived at 5! Wonderful!!!

DanaMarie and Brian headed out to celebrate Lindsey's graduation from pharmacy school and will be back tonight. Sis, Brucie Bruce and I are off to dinner at El Mundo...a recommendation from DanaMarie. That was fun......packed........lots of ladies in hats!

Then to Kroger's......I ask....why in the world??? We get there and I find out...Kroger is the world's largest florist and they make the blanket of roses that will be presented to tomorrow's winner at the Derby. The line is forever long just so people can see the ladies have sew each rose into place...the live band is playing "in the store"...it's a happening! ...and we're right in the middle of everything More tomorrow...........much love, Sue

sensible shoes. I've been told that Derby Day is a really long day. A day of walking and standing...not a day for 3 1/2 in black heels. Soooooooooooo, the sensible thing is to wear sensible shoes...that's a problem. Didn't own any...so went shopping today. Bought some...(will take mine in my purse .)

Off to pack........up at 4 and out of 401 at 5...to Savannah at 6 and fly out at 7:15! Still need to learn the words to My Old Kentucky Home!

Oops...fell asleep on the couch and called it a day. Tuesday was a busy day at the store...(logged more than a few miles .)

Off at noon today. Errands...and then to Grace tonight for the last Single Moms of the year. We talked about next year (we're going to start with Philipians...) and I finished with Elisabeth Elliot. We listened to her via her recordings at blueletterbible.org. In a day of a lot of spiritual "fast food" ...I know I took them to one of the most influential teachers of our time. Listening to her is like trying to drink from a fire hydrant...so much to take in.

A Zonta meeting tomorrow at noon...am being inducted as a new member. Then home to pack for my trip to Louisville...

Am really getting excited about the Kentucky Derby. According to the weatherman...we could have thunderstorms...so we need lots of good weather prayers. ...thank you!

Had a great chat with Lynne...and she had a great idea...
Send-THE-Hat! Box that big girl up and send her to Louisville! You know...that's a great idea.... Heaven knows I can't show up at the Delta check in with it on my head...and there isn't a hat box around that would hold it...so, box and ship it is! ...I'll be at FedEx tomorrow.

A good morning at Grace...good message on "the Vine"...took one of the single moms and her two munchkins to breakfast...watched the babies in the nursery and then home. Time with my book at the pool was wonderful...it was warm, sunny and I had the place to myself. It was great. Chatted with Sissy, Bruce and DanaMarie... ...that's the best part of anyday.

Watched a little TV...and unfortunately fell asleep...hence, am up now.
