As I was writing the blog last night, I was watching CNN. I fell asleep watching Anderson Cooper's coverage of the tragic event in Minnesota.
My heart was breaking for those dear people...and on some level, I felt like I understood what they were feeling. All of a sudden, something that they thought would always be there, something that they trusted everyday, collapsed...was gone, and the aftermath was devastating. I know you're praying for them, too.
I am reminded of a conversation that I had with Janney while I was home. We were talking about the importance of not missing the
"gift of today"...and what a waste of time it is to worry about the future. Those dear people could have sat and pondered for absolutely ever and never dreamed that a falling bridge would claim their life. I remember saying..."to miss the gift of today because we are worrying about something that "might" happen...when if fact that rarely occurs...would be utter foolishness and a waste of the gift." Then... Phil. 4:8 comes to mind...and gratitude comes to comfort.
Thankful for you...Love, Sue
