I am thankful and the girls and guys are excited for me.

Don't know when I'll be moving...we have to work that out. The previous owners are actively looking for a home here on the island.

Now I need to do my homework on moving vans...Nancy, I need lots of advice from you!!!

Time for a little reflection and an update. As I'm sure those of you who know me well...also know that I came down to S.C...not to escape...but to face widowhood head on. Knowing that it would be difficult...I quietly also knew that this time..."doing the next thing" meant submitting to the process and learning what widowhood really was and felt like. Amazing girlfriends have faithfully walked beside me through the past months, literally caring for my heart and holding my hand with each step. Now, to learn what this was all about I needed to walk alone...without their incredible love and support. "Be Still and Know That I Am"...kept repeating over and over in my mind...also, "In quietness and confidence is your strength."

I've always said...I can pick out a good book and a good pastor. ( Don't let me pick out your next dog. ) Once I found the Hilton Head library...I spotted Max Lucado's new book, "Facing Your Giants." I've always loved King David and this book is a study of his life. About 60-70 pages in, Max talks about David hitting a tough time and leaving everything to go hide in a cave...little did I know my cave would be HHI...(not a bad cave:) There has been a lot of quiet...and I cherish it. It's been good to be here.

When I talked to the girls...they'd say, Momma, you sound so good. I've got a good church, a little job that I look forward to going to and I really enjoy the people, found a good vet for Mitzi and Opal, a kennel, hair colorist (now that's IMPORTANT), a doc for me ( note...hair color came first), a gym I really like with a trainer, Christina, that routinely tortures me and I love it...then there's the Tuesday night Early Bird group...they are retired and down the road a bit further than I am...but I am blessed to be apart of it.

Saw Elwood a few days ago...he mentioned rumor has it that a unit overlooking the golf course and lagoon was going to be coming available. Not published on MLS...not shown yet. Saw it...it's adorable. Two bedrooms...1630 sq. ft. Talked it over with the girls and Bruce...told them I was going to make an offer. I have their full support.

As I used to say to my fellow nurses when things got crazy..."We can do this...we'll make it work!" We will make this work...I'm planning on lots of Ya-Ya company, frequent trips to Ohio and as always, I count on your prayers.

And...I now understand that while there are unanswered questions and that may never change...I also know...You can't prevent what you don't see coming. Somehow, in my heart of hearts...I think that is going to help someone. Love always, Sue

Since I'm wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy behind on my nursing CEU's...to the tune of ...I need 48 hours worth. Found a good thing. Thought I was going to have to attend NTI in Atlanta for the national critical care nursing meeting in May. It would cost a week of time and a high price of tuition and hotel expense...about $2000. Found a great continuing ed site on line. $34.99 and I can do them right here!!! Now that's what I call REALLY good news. Have already done one...piece of cake. What a find.

Talked with Dr. Jordan...he phoned in a second Z-Pac...this stuff is definitely a two packer. Just stayed close to #703 Harbourmaster today...will go back to work tomorrow.

Dinner tomorrow night with the Tuesday night early bird group. I'm Vera's date. You should see Vera...she's a real cutie. Friday night is the Nip and Nibble again. I'm really thankful to be included. It's a great way to get to know the folks that live here.

Church was great...Pastor Roy had a wonderful message. For those of you that know...he loves visual aides and I look forward each week to see what he's going to use. Today it was crutches and a wheelchair. His point...without forgiveness...we are as cripples, trying to walk and move through our days impaired. Then off to work in the nursery for the first time. I'm working in the "infants" room. Met a nice lady...Martha and a precious little one, Alana.

After church, off to one of my all time favorite stores..."Barnes-ies!" a.k.a. Barnes and Noble. Founds some good books on floral design.

Phone rings...It's Suzi Lee. she lives down her 6-7 months of the year and wants to meet for breakfast. We meet at the Plantation Cafe...had Crab Cakes Benedict and a lovely chat. Tony died January of 2004. Suzi is really active here at Holy Family Church. She is doing well.

Just waiting for the z-pac to do it's thing. Talked with Ellen at work...she said everybody was sick, "so stay home." Am off Sunday and Monday...should be back to full speed by Tuesday.
