 2/13/07 A lovely dinner...

Carole and Robin invited me to join their family for dinner tonight. It was a deliciously wonderful evening. Great fun with the grandbabies and Carole's brisket was a tender and tasty treat. We need her recipe. I loved it!

Met a gal that lives here this morning while walking the girls. She and her husband are from Bloomington, Illinois. Then had lunch with the lady that owned this condo originally. We rented from her for probably 10 years. They sold to the current owner and relocated to a home in Sun City...just outside the HHI gate. She was eager to see what the new owner had done to the place. Then to Signey's for lunch.

Guess I kind of ate my way thru the day! I did get to the gym to workout.

Am watching Nightline...they just did a large segment on the winter storm hitting the Midwest. Be safe and stay warm...XOXOX

2/12/07 Pumpkin! you're not going to believe this one!

Mitzi and Opal are on the mend !!! Here's the interesting info that I got from Kathy Lloyd...Pumpkin! Instead of a spoonful of white rice...it's a spoonful of pumpkin in the a.m. and all is well in the b.m. dept. for her pooch, Lucy. She doesn't know how it works...but it does. Seems to me that we should try that in the ICU's...I've been up to my elbows in more code browns than I care to recall! ...if it works...let's bottle the stuff...market it and not only will we make millions...every ICU nurse in the country will love us!

Got an update from Nelita on her mom. Things are going well. She is out of the SICU and aside from a few respiratory issues, is right on target. The toughest part is keeping her down to rest. She thinks if she can just get up and walk more...she'll be fine:) The family is thankful for your prayers and just asks that you please keep praying. She still has a long way to go. Thanks...

2/11/07 Thank You, Branka and Hi Carole and Robin!

Looks like Branka's Rx for the puppy poops worked! Thank heavens...I was getting real tired of doggie doodle duty. Thanks, Branka...in case you're wondering...she prescribed plain white rice (no salt or butter) and bottled water.

Then this afternoon, I had a very pleasant surprise! As I was out walking the girls...I looked up and standing right there in front of a condo were dear friends Carole and Robin Reed. Robin volunteered in the Emergency Dept. for years and I worked with Carole on the Women's Board. They are here for a week with their daughter and her family. What a wonderful treat! She knew I was here from Susie Payton and Cindy Hetrick...but didn't know where I was staying. I am literally, just around the corner.

Pastor Roy was great this morning...he taught on love. Haven't heard a word as to how Nelita's mom is doing post-op. Please keep praying for her. Thank you so much. Have a great week.

 2/10/07 Beaufort, S.C.

Made a little day trip today to see Beaufort for the first time. Met a realtor lady upon arrival. Can I just say...this lady could talk!!!and talk...and talk! ( Wore me out! ) Anyway, three hours later, I had seen Beaufort. A charming little town of around 14,000 with areas that are just absolutely beautiful. Streets lined with 100 year old oak trees and Spanish moss swaying in the breeze and gorgeous homes with huge white porches and rocking chairs reminiscent of the old South. However, right down the street there are little ramshackle houses barely standing. Very interesting. In a way...kind of like Portage Lakes. Anyway, apparently, 12 movies have been made in the area...she mentioned Forrest Gump and Prince of Tides, but I didn't see any shrimp boats. Glad I went...not in any hurry to go back. The quiet this evening is nice.

 2/09/07 his name is Wally...

Well, learned an important piece of Harbourmaster info...the gator's name is Wally...and Wally has 2 buddies. They all live in the lagoon right as you drive into Harbourmaster. He was out sunbathing again today. One very ugly cuss.

Toured HHI and Bluffton with "Bob the Realtor." Amazing how much the prices change once you drive across the bridge! It was fun.

My workout today with Christina was great! She brought her gloves and we did kickboxing. It was the first time I actually got to put on the gloves. Amazing how good it feels to just punch like crazy. ( I could hear my favorite themesong playing in the background!!!
da da daaa....da da daaaaaaaa!!!) A bit slow when it comes to speed...but had plenty of .

I have just received an email that Nelita's mom, Isuara Zytkowski received her liver transplant yesterday. Please join me in praying for her recovery. She will be in the ICU at CCF for at least one week. I'll keep you updated. Thank you.
