Rounded the corner to drive into Harbormaster, and there sunning himself on the edge of the lagoon was the largest alligator I'd ever seen. There he was...in all his glory. The golfers...about 50 feet away didn't seem the least bit bothered. A couple nearby said not to worry as long as your at least 12 feet away...oh! and that they'll go after dogs. Won't be taking Mitzi and Opal for a walk around the lagoon! Although...in Mitzi vs. the Gator...my money's on Mitz!!!

A nice day. Met Trish at the church for an interview... to volunteer in the nursery. A really lovely gal. Hopefully, Cindy and Jan will give me a good reference when they call to check me out! I can change poopie diapers with the best of 'em. Then off to the hair salon...Fringe...to get my roots done. That's a good thing. Was a little concerned when the hairdresser, "Misty," started to share her future plans as singer, songwriter and dancer. Hmmmmmmmmm...that could be a bad thing. All of a sudden I had an American Idol hopeful doing my roots. I grew even more concerned when she shared that her most recent composition was set to an Egyptian bellydancing beat!!! You can't make this stuff up! Will let you know how it looks after I dry it.

On a personal note... A few of you have asked...Since I'm here alone, how are things going? In reality, I put the fun stuff in the blog. Those times when the waves of sadness roll in, I keep them quietly tucked in my heart.....I've learned that gratitude and recounting my blessings is the place I run. I've also learned that the waves of sadness come regardless of my location.....and that I still love it here. The lessons learned from Elisabeth Elliot still ring true...and I do the next thing.

Had a great post "24" debriefing session with Lynne. We agreed...Oh, poor Jack...what a family!!! A lesser man would crumble. This is going to be a very looooooooooong day. I miss my "24" buddies. Thank heavens for the cellie and our Monday debriefings.

I continue to enjoy the new gym and Christina, the trainer. She's tough...but really like her workouts. Am certainly never bored. You can't begin to imagine the limitless number of exercises she thinks up. Never seen anything like them! For example, you have to stand on these rubber puddles that wobble back and forth, while doing hammer curls! Something about being good for one's core. Her resourcefulness knows no bounds!

Still...it's a good thing. As I told her...it was either loose the weight...or keep eating...quit coloring my hair...and in another 6 months...I'd look like Paula Deen's sister! Back at it tomorrow.

Did get to the Hilton Head library...it was Open this time. I am now the proud owner of my own HHI library card. Picked up Max Lucado's new book on David. Stay warm. XOXOX

Oh my...did you see that rain?!!! Though I'll always be a Bears fan at heart...(from my Chicago days), it was good to see Coach Dungy smile and celebrate the win. Remember, he lost his son Dec. '05 to suicide. Sis also reminded me today, that Coach Dungy has a sister that is a physician in Indy. She was very supportive of Anita during her residency days.

Now, Prince was certainly something! Tik loves him...so I made a point to watch. What am I missing??? Told DanaMarie that I felt like I never really "got" Prince. She said that she didn't think I was alone...a lot of people probably felt the same way. Not sure if that's true, or if she was just trying to make me feel better...either way...It worked!
