It's chilly today...so soup sounded good. Found a great little deli. The matzo ball soup is delicious...definitely better that Corky and Lenny's.....but not even close to Suzy's. At the restaurant, I met Grace and her girlfriend. Grace is 83 and her girlfriend is 82. They travel together and were an absolutely wonderful. True yaya sisters!!! It was fun meeting them.

Forgot to mention that I found a beauty shop for "the girls." Right next to the gym... in one of those pet resorts. They actually have those suites with the little beds, a tv and a bedside lammp! A hoot to see!!!

Paperwork tonight.

The first day at the new gym...and it's going to work out well. The equipment is nice. I'm heading for the Advil.

Didn't hear from the "early birds"...maybe next week. Fortunately, I know that connecting will take time.

I know that you're wondering how my days are...and how I'm doing. My days are shaping up to be very simple...taking care of the girls, working out...reading...writing...and household chores. ...very enjoyable. Staying connected with the computer and my cellie is a good thing.

I also know that you keep Anita, Dana and myself in your thoughts and prayers. Please know how very grateful I am for each and every one...I know that has been our lifeline. Thank you and please don't stop!

I was able to overcome a hurdle this week. Not wanting to go to a restaurant alone, I have put that off for over a year. Realizing that I needed get past that...armed with the Island Packet newspaper, I went for the first time on Sunday. I can report that I now look forward to my lunch at the Hilton Head Diner with my book and or newspaper.

Yesterday, I noticed on the way to church that there was a Dog Show at Shelter Cove Mall. As I was popping in to check things out...I heard, " Sue, is that you?" It was an old friend from swim team days. So nice to chat and get caught up. Then off to see if I could find any Cavalier King Charles like our little Barney and Buckeye. Success!!! and they were adorable. Another success was the discovery of a new store at the mall. Off 5th Saks Outlet......now that's a find girlfriends. I nearly needed an intervention in the purse dept...
Oh my gosh....Michael Kors was everywhere. It was tough...but I walked away........so sad.

Today was gym finding day...did good. Found one close by with lots of cardio equip that has those little tv's in each one. Love that! Will start in the a.m. This is not going to be pretty. Get out the Advil.

Before I begin my update for today, I feel it is necessary to insert a disclaimer before continuing:) Though Eileen mentioned over a year ago...that I should journal, to which I promptly replied, " Oh no, I'm terrible at that"... Her comments,... as well as thoughts of Lynne, mentioning Matthews blog came to mind. Hmmmmmmmmmm...would that be a good idea??? maybe a good way to share HHI with girlfriends at home. What the heck, I thought, I'll give it a try. Now, ( as my friend Norm would say...)here's the problem... I'm a terrible writer!!! The writer in the family was always Dan...and he was wonderful, a true English teacher's son...a walking grammar textbook. Subsequently,...the girls also got the gift...leaving me the lugg nut in the family when it came to a "case for brevity and punctuation:)" It seems, my fingers put down what comes into my brain...hence, "the problem." All that to say, .....I'll give this a try, and Eileen and Lynne are not in any way responsible. I apologize in advance for my run on sentences, to many commas, way to many dot, dot, dots! ...
Hopefully, you'll overlook my shortcomings, and see the heart of the matter.

Here goes...
Met a neighbor before church this morning, while walking Mitzi and Opal. He and his wife Themla are from Richfield and have moved in near Glen Cairn. After a chat, they invited me to join the Harbourmaster (the area where this condo is located) group for dinner on Tuesday. They head out for the "earlybirld special"...Say it isn't so!!! Please tell me I'm not old enough for that! Oh well, in the interest of being a good neighbor...I said yes.

Church was good. I met Pastor Roy as I walked in the door. He stuck out his hand and said, "my name is Roy...and you look familiar. I know your face, but can't remember your name." I then told him that Grace was out HHI church and that we'd come down for many years. He looks a little older and now sports a grey beard. I look forward to heading back next Sunday and taking Janney with me. She's due to arrive on Friday.

Once home, I met the neighbors on the other side, again while walking the girls. (They seem to be a good way to get to meet the neighbors.) Anyway, it's a young gal in her 20's...Melanie and her little 2 y/o son.

Tik left this morning after a very short but very fun time together. Yesterday was a spin around HHI showing her some favorite spots. Thank you for coming Tik! Now it's time to unpack and get settled. Mitzi and Opal seem to be recovering from their bout with the "poops."

Thankful to be here...it's hardest fighting the urge to get the Island Packet and start looking for a job. Everything in me wants to head to Hilton Head Hosp...match into HR and ask what's up! Anybody need a nurse? However...Will take time to recharge. The island is pretty this afternoon. Sunny and 60.
